Ware Branch, MD, University of Utah

Dr. Ware Branch is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist. He specializes in managing various conditions, including recurrent miscarriage, genetics and fetal diagnosis, placenta accreta, and stillbirth. Dr. Branch is internationally recognized for his research and expertise in managing conditions like antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), thrombotic disorders during pregnancy, and recurrent pregnancy loss.
 
He has been in practice as a high-risk pregnancy physician since 1985 when he graduated from the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship at the University of Utah. Dr. Branch has authored over 200 peer reviewed papers, letters, and several book chapters.

Objectives

Discuss the new antiphospholipid syndrome classification criteria and underlying rationale.

Review treatment of antiphospholipid syndrome pregnancy and the results of a recently completed treatment trial.

Outline relatively new, "non-criteria" autoantibodies and their relationship to obstetric outcomes and lupus anticoagulant.
